Cool Resolve is Joel Black - Bass and Vocals, Joe Moores - Guitar, George Flores - Trumpet, Flugle horn and vocals, Dave Patton - Drums and vocals and introducing Tim Urban as lead vocals.
With and impressive list of instructors and a Bachelor degree in music from Texas State in San Marcos, George brings his love of the horn to every venue he plays. His early involvement included Campus Big Band and the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corp.
Professionally George has played in jazz orchestras and the Latin Experience band as well as arranging and composing for over 25 years. A professional sound engineer in his day job, his musical expertise and passion for life bring the sizzle to Cool Resolve.
George hails from Ft Worth where he lives with the love of his life!
Tim rose quickly to national prominence with his success as a top 10 Finalist in Season 9 of American Idol. His smooth vocals and fun stage presence made him a fan favorite!
Following his appearance with American Idol, he toured the United States and overseas, entertaining thousands with his soaring vocals and engaging personality.
Tim has acted in several films and released multiple albums and singles.
As a natural crooner with a fresh approach, Tim infuses the standards with a new pizazz!
He lives in Dallas with his wife and kids.
Feelin' the rhythm since before he could walk, Dave has been playing drums since he was 9 and performing in bands since age 16.
At age 21, he hit the road to tour with Free Spirit Band, both nationally and internationally. Dave continued playing Christian music for several years and in 2000, he took his love of jazz music to help form Patton Leather Rhythm.
Dave has played on numerous music projects, releasing his first instrumental CD in 2007.
Dave resides in Oak Leaf, TX with his wife Sherrill.
On stage since age 7, Joel has performed vocally and instrumentally in venues from the Majestic Theater to Mardi Gras and from Branson to Hollywood. Trained in voice as well as jazz and classical guitar, he picked up the bass more than 20 years ago and it quickly became his instrument of choice.
Accomplished on 5 string electric, fretless acoustic and upright acoustic bass, Joel provides the foundation for Cool Resolve, while contributing lead vocals.
Joel has played on multiple CD projects and off-Broadway musicals as well as in Jazz, R&B, Swing, Country, Blues, Rock, Variety and Gospel bands and ensembles. He has added his sound to a number of bands throughout the years including the vocal trio Pure Desire, rock recording artist Jason Davis of the Jason Davis Project, Christian pop band Racing Gravity, country recording artist Tommy Snyder and Christian bluesman Brian Howard.
He released an instrumental CD in 2007 with jazz band Patton Leather Rhythm.
In addition to Cool Resolve, he currently plays acoustic bass for the award winning Celtic band, The Selkie Girls.
He is married to his best friend LaVonda, has 4 children and lives in Desoto TX.
Joe grew up in Nebraska, and started playing guitar at the age of seven. His first influences were Jimi Hendrix, Rolling Stones, and Crème. At 12 years of age, he formed his first Rock band.
When Joe decided to expand his musical influence, at 16, he joined a dance band, playing all the standards from Count Basie to Glenn Miller .
Following high school, he attended Berklee College of Music where he studied guitar with Randy Roos. Joe has also studied with John Scofield and Lenny Breau.
After Berklee, Joe toured for 3 years with a Gospel group playing for a number of different artist. Joe has backed three Grammy artists and has has lent his guitar skills to recordings in various studios around the Dallas Fort Worth area and in Nashville.
